Uninstalling then reinstalling certainly made a noticeable difference for my HTC Hero. We're very committed to improving the app. As for the HTC users with speed problems, we've made some improvements in the last release, and with any recent reports, I'm testing out to see if uninstalling and reinstalling helps (reports from users that did this says it has).
